IT’S our birthday but some of you will be the ones getting the presents instead.
To mark its 50th anniversary, Star Media Group has launched the first of three rounds of the Star50 Subscribe and Win contest where subscribers stand to win amazing prizes and giveaways.
A grand prize of an iPhone 12 Mini is up for grabs in the first series of the contest which runs from March 11 to May 31.
Contestants can also stand a chance to bring home a 55in 4K Samsung TV if they win second place or walk away with a 14in HP Pavilion Notebook as the third prize.
Additionally, 30 consolation prize winners will receive RM200 Shopee vouchers in the first series of the contest.
To participate, contestants would first need to subscribe or renew their subscription to any one-year plan of The Star newspaper, ePaper or The Star Digital Access via StarNewsstand or TheStar.com.my within the contest period.
They will also be entitled to a special anniversary discount and enjoy RM50 off on The Star Newspaper standalone plan, The Star All Access and The Star Bundle.
This RM50 discount is specifically for those who signed up for the one-year plan for the print version of The Star.
SMG circulation senior manager Anandan Thangasamy said the contest was the company’s way to show its appreciation to readers and subscribers over the years.
“During these unprecedented times, it’s important to have a trusted source for credible news.
“Whether it’s with our newspaper, ePaper or Digital Access membership, we strive to accommodate everyone’s reading habits and preferences, ” he said.
He also encouraged readers to renew their subscription soon and be eligible for the government’s RM3,000 lifestyle tax relief for newspapers and ePapers when they file their 2021 income tax.
The second and third rounds of the Star50 Subscribe and Win contest will run from June 1 to Aug 31 and Sept 1 to Nov 30 respectively.
More exciting prizes will be announced closer to the competition period.
