Nation’s top 10 real estate developers lauded at glittering awards show
SUBANG JAYA: It was a glittering and memorable night as the country’s top property developers were honoured at the inaugural StarProperty.my Awards 2016.
Leading the pack were 10 local developers who received the “All-Star Award – Top Ranked Developers of the Year” accolade for their consistency in creating and adding value to their property projects.
These players were IJM Land Bhd, IOI Properties Group Bhd, LBS Bina Group Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd, Paramount Property, SP Setia, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Sunway Bhd and UEM Sunrise Bhd.
Star Media Group Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, in his speech yesterday, said the awards were aimed at recognising developers who deliver more than just housing or commercial buildings.
“We acknowledge that it is through your developments that city and township communities are being designed to become smarter and more integrated.
“Transportation infrastructure is reducing travelling time and economic efficiency is enhanced by incorporating sustainable construction and features, ultimately enhancing our society’s quality of life,” he said.
The prestigious event also featured nine other awards, namely The Cornerstone Award, The Best Touch and Feel Award, The Starter Home Award, The Just-Walk Award, The Niche and Unique Award, The Earth Conscious Award, The Five Elements Award, The Family-Friendly Award and The Wow Award.
Each category has three levels of winners: Excellence, Honours and Merits.
IJM Land was the Excellence winner under The Wow Award and The Family-Friendly Award categories for its The Light Waterfront Penang and Bandar Rimbayu projects respectively.
Sunway Bhd was named the Excellence winner under The Five Elements Award and The Just-Walk Award categories for its Sunway Resort City and Sunway Geo @ Sunway South Quay projects respectively.
For The Earth Conscious Award category, both Eco World Development Group Bhd and SP Setia shared the Excellence honours for their Eco Botanic and SP Setia Corporate Headquarters respectively.
Eco World was also the top winner of The Cornerstone Award for its Eco Sanctuary development while SP Setia topped The Starter Home Award for its Seri Baiduri Apartment project in Shah Alam.
Meanwhile, Ivory Properties Group Bhd came out on top in The Niche and Unique Award for its Moonlight Bay project and Thriven Global Bhd was named the Excellence winner under The Best Touch and Feel Award for its Lumi Tropicana development.
The event, which was organised by Star Media Group Bhd, was held at Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur and was graced by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The inaugural award show aims to recognise organisations that have left a significant impact on the real estate industry with outstanding developments.
The event attracted more than 50 participants. The entries were judged by a panel comprising national leaders of various disciplines such as architecture, real estate investment trusts, geomancy sciences, landscape architecture, sustainable building, interior design, real estate-related services, business and real estate journalism.
