Hospitals receive medical equipment under the Star Media Group's (SMG) Frontliners Initiative
Two hospitals in the Klang Valley have received much-needed medical equipment from the Star Media Group’s (SMG) Frontliners Initiative.
The initiative was launched under the Star Foundation.
Ten patient trolleys and two ultrasound units were delivered to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) yesterday.
Its director, Dr Heric Corray, received the items on behalf of the hospital and expressed his appreciation for the help in these trying times.
“I would like to thank Star Foundation for donating these items.“This donation will definitely help improve our care for Covid-19 patients,” he said.
The other beneficiary, Hospital Sungai Buloh, received four patient trolleys and two ultrasound units.
Its director, Dr Kuldip Kaur, said the items donated would be very helpful in the medical wards and intensive care unit (ICU).
“Thank you to the Star Foundation. We really appreciate this very much as it will be very helpful to the medical wards and ICU.
“It will really help our staff in this challenging time and I would once again like to express my appreciation for this kind of donation to Hospital Sungai Buloh,” she said.
The Star Frontliners Initiative is aimed at raising funds to buy vital medical equipment and supplies for hospitals and medical staff.
SMG pledged RM1mil to kickstart the initiative. The public can also donate to support the frontliners.The fund also enabled medical equipment to be delivered to Melaka Hospital and Ipoh’s Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
Melaka Hospital received two beds for its ICU while Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital received four such beds.
Donations can be made to Star Foundation-Medical Fund’s Public Bank account (31-9984-9230) via bank transfer, credit or debit cards.
For a tax exemption receipt to be issued, donors need to fill in the Medical Fund Donation Form available on the Star Foundation website.
Established in 2004, Star Foundation is the charitable arm of Star Media Group.
It is aimed at delivering meaningful initiatives with lasting outcomes to a diverse group of beneficiaries.
