‘Kuntum’ for police as a gesture of thanks
In recognition of the role played by the police in ensuring law and order during the movement control order, Star Media Group (SMG) Bhd has gifted 1,000 copies of Kuntum magazine each to two police headquarters here.
The magazines, which were meant for the children of police personnel, would be distributed via the Police Family Association (Perkep) of IPD Brickfields, Jalan Travers and IPD Dang Wangi, Jalan Dang Wangi.
Receiving the contribution on behalf of IPD Brickfields on Friday was Perkep chairman Norasmawati A. Majid.
“I was an avid reader of Kuntum when I was growing up and I am excited to share that experience with my children, ” she said, adding that the magazines would be distributed to personnel in seven police stations in the district.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah, who received the contribution

“This magazine can help children, who are now unable to attend school, to improve their knowledge.
“I used to read Kuntum during my school years as this magazine has been in circulation for almost four decades now, ” he said.
Also present was IPD Dang Wangi deputy chief Supt Naazron Abdul Yusof.
Kuntum circulation unit executive officer Sharifah Thuraizah Syed Hassan said the contribution was part of the “Kuntum Bersamamu” programme that was launched this month as an appreciation for the frontliners in their work against the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We hope the magazine would reach as many of their children as possible and bring a little cheer to them, ” she said, adding that plans were already in the pipeline to distribute Kuntum to Melaka and Negri Sembilan now that interstate travel was allowed.
