One-stop store sponsors ePaper subscriptions
MJ BOUTIQUE sponsored RM80,000 worth of luggage, school bags and cash vouchers as gifts for The Star’s ePaper subscription campaign.
The store has sponsored numerous projects with The Star, and this is the first time that they are sponsoring the ePaper and bundle subscription.
MJ Boutique Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Ron Ong said being involved with The Star as a sponsor gives them the opportunity to work closely with one of Malaysia’s best media company.
“We are happy to work and advertise with the Star Media Group, which has the highest readership both online and in print,” said Ong.
MJ Boutique is one of Malaysia’s one-stop shop for students, where various school supplies, such as school uniforms, stationery, school bags and shoes.
MJ Boutique is a subsidiary of the makers of Swan school bags, Hwa Thong Bags Industries Sdn Bhd since 1951, and MJ Boutique has been running for more than eight years.
They have 25 stores across peninsular Malaysia, including outlets in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Perak.
“We will soon open two more stores in Kuala Lumpur this year,” said Ong.
MJ Boutique is well known for offering a range of school items that are of top quality and at affordable prices, rivalling other Malaysian brands.
“Despite the low prices for MJ Boutique’s school uniforms, the products are of good quality.
“On top of that, we offer Swan premium uniforms and school bags that range between RM39.90 and RM400,” said Ong.
“We look at the trend in the market and what has high demand with the public.
“As an example, we created a school bag with Japanese designs to ensure that we provide what customers want,” he said.
Another notable project sponsored by MJ Boutique is The Star’s Step Up pullout for schools, which is included in the Newspaper-in-Education (NiE) segment.
Star Media Group in group managing director/chief executive officer’s office special officer Loo Phan Kooi said readers can subscribe The Star Bundle for RM460 per year or Star ePaper with four regional ePaper – The Jakarta Post, China Daily Asia Weekly, Philippine Daily Inquirer and The Nation from Thailand – for RM180 per year.
The public can look forward to many goodies and rewards when signing up for any new subscription package during The Star Fiesta roadshow.
The roadshow will be at Aeon Mall Ipoh Klebang from Jan 20 to 22, Komtar JBCC, Johor Baru (Jan 20-22), Mahkota Parade, Malacca (Feb 10-12), Gurney Plaza, George Town (Feb 17-19), Sunway Carnival Mall, Seberang Perai (Feb 24-26), Aman Central Mall, Alor Setar (March 3-5), Star Education Fair, SPICE Arena (March 4-5) and Sunway Putra Mall, Kuala Lumpur (March 10-12).
