ONE should work hard and play hard, as the saying goes. Taking this to heart, Star Media Group Berhad (formerly known as Star Publications (M) Bhd) took the opportunity to show its appreciation to clients and business partners with panache by hosting a “Year-End Party” at Play @ The Roof, First Avenue in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
More than 200 guests in themed black-and-gold outfits mingled, networked and caught up with one another.
Speaking at the event, Star Media Group Berhad group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai expressed gratitude to guests for their valuable and never ending support throughout the years and urged them to have a good time.
Guests were quick to get into the groove as they happily posed for the camera with a funky selection of party props upon arriving – a welcome break from their hectic week.
They were then treated to a delectable fare of Asian and Western cuisine and mouth-watering desserts as well as a free flow of drinks.
The soiree went into full swing when stand-up comedian Harith Iskander took the stage with his refreshing and rib-tickling antics.
Guests were in fits of laughter as the talented personality cracked jokes on his growing up days and current issues.
Next on the agenda was a lip-sync battle where guests cheered on friends who took part and lip-synced to songs from different eras.
It was a pretty intense yet fun battle as participants let their hair down and showed off their skills in a bid to outdo one another.
The night ended with a lucky draw session and sassy dance performances.
It was certainly an unforgettable night filled with hype, chatter and excitement; and with some guests taking the opportunity to reconnect with old friends while others made new ones. Here’s to a wonderful and pleasant 2016.
