Roshan is Star director of ops
PETALING JAYA: Star Publications (M) Bhd has appointed Roshan Thiran as its director of operations in a bid to maintain its position as a leading media company as well as to future-proof its business.
Roshan began his new extended role yesterday, and will help support the growth and innovation efforts of the company.
He is currently the chief executive officer of Leaderonomics Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Star Publications.
“Roshan has been involved in a number of strategic turnarounds, and his deep expertise in driving cultural and strategic transformation will be leveraged in his new role.
“More is expected to come from the Star media group as it continues to re-align its efforts to offer a more integrated solution to its advertisers and clients alike,” the company said in a statement.
Prior to his involvement in Leaderonomics, Roshan was Johnson & Johnson’s global talent management director, spearheading parts of the conglomerate’s global human resource and leadership development initiatives.
He spent more than 12 years at General Electric, working in numerous capacities and industries across various geographic locations in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Roshan also spent some time at NBC Universal, working in its Rockefeller Centre offices in New York where he played a role in supporting its news business and a number of cable start-ups, including MSNBC.
He started his career at Exxon-Mobil in the United States.
