SMG gives 1,000 Kuntum copies to hospitals
Star Media Group (SMG) Bhd has contributed 1,000 copies of Kuntum magazine to two hospitals as an appreciation to the medical frontliners in their fight against the Covid-19 outbreak.
The magazines are meant for the children of the medical personnel from Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL).
Kuntum editor Norlia Jaafar said the contribution was part of its corporate social responsibility towards people who had been working tirelessly in maintaining public health.
“We hope the magazines will bring some cheer to their children at home who are unable to attend school.
“This magazine provides educational information and we hope it will cultivate a reading habit among them, ” she said.
Elated to accept the contribution was HKL corporate communications head Norazah Muhamad Azha.
She said the copies would be distributed in stages to the personnel.
“Some copies will also be placed at the children’s paediatric ward, while some will be sent to Hospital Tunku Azizah, Kampung Baru for visitors to read, ” she said.
Receiving the copies on behalf of Hospital Sungai Buloh was public relations officer Shahrina Abdul Samad, who thanked SMG for the contribution.
Also present at the handing over ceremonies were Kuntum circulation unit executive officer Sharifah Thuraizah Syed Hassan and journalist Siti Aishah Shah Bani.
