Star gives free access to its ePaper during MCO
In light of the ongoing movement control order (MCO), The Star is bringing the news to readers by providing free access to its ePaper from now (March 21) until April 30.
Readers can catch up on local news and analysis from the daily without leaving the comfort of their homes to go and pick up a copy.
Star Media Group Bhd group CEO Andreas Vogiatzakis said this was The Star‘s way of keeping readers safe and informed.
“This is an uncertain time for all of us, which is why it’s extremely important that we have access to credible and reliable news from the safety of our homes.
“From the latest MCO updates to the valiant efforts of Covid-19 frontliners, keeping up to date on the latest local news can help readers feel less anxious while they are under home quarantine or doing their part to practise social distancing,” he said, urging readers to stay home, healthy and safe.
The ePaper differs from The Star‘s web and app platform in that it preserves the format and reading experience of the newspaper on mobile app and web browser.
Readers can tap on stories to switch seamlessly between newspaper view and a mobile-optimised text view, and listen to the news via audio reader.
To start reading the ePaper, sign up and redeem the free access at newsstand.thestar.com.my.
Existing subscribers of the standalone ePaper package will automatically receive one-month free access added to their current subscription.
