StarProperty honours finest talents in Malaysian real estate industry
KUALA LUMPUR: Kingsman Realty Sdn Bhd (Kingsman) was the biggest winner at the StarProperty Awards 2021 Realtors Edition gala dinner on Wednesday night (Dec 8), taking home over a quarter of the total trophies.
Close on Kingsman’s heels was IQI Realty Sdn Bhd (IQI) with 12 trophies. Foreward Realty Sdn Bhd (Foreward) also performed well, coming in third with nine trophies.
This year’s awards featured a total of 11 categories with 22 subcategories, with each entry evaluated based on performance, development and outstanding achievements.
Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the fourth installation of the awards celebrated and acknowledged the best property agencies and negotiators.
In recognition of such efforts, StarProperty honours the finest talents in the Malaysian real estate industry.
Global Link Properties Sdn Bhd (Global), Maxxan Realty Sdn Bhd (Maxxan), Tech Realtors Properties Sdn Bhd (Tech), Kith and Kin Realty Sdn Bhd, Believe Realty Sdn Bhd and Polygon Properties Sdn Bhd also won awards.
The sought-after All-Stars Awards for agencies went to Global, IQI, Maxxan and Tech respectively, while 10 negotiators took the All-Stars Awards in their individual capacities.
The 10 include Foreward’s Andrian Lim, Azhar Jaafar and Steve Yap; Kingsman’s Austin Lim, Benjamin Kuan, Casswen Lim and Davin Low, as well as IQI’s John Teh, Kenny Chia and Swiss Tan.
IQI’s Tan was the toast of the night, grabbing three trophies for herself and the title of Most Exceptional Leader for the women’s category.
Meanwhile, Foreward’s Yap got two trophies, and clinched the Most Exceptional Leader for the men’s category.
For the Business Continuity Award, seven companies clinched the award, namely – Believe Realty, Foreward Realty, Global Link Properties, IQI, Kingsman, Maxxan and Tech.
Earlier in his speech, Star Media Group Berhad (SMG) group chief executive officer Alex Yeow said this award also pays homage to the individuals and agencies, who have strived extra hard, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, to fulfil their unique role in society.
“Home ownership is a major milestone marking an important chapter in one’s life.
“Beyond being a point of reference for those looking to purchase real estate, agents and negotiators bring even more added value from analysis and research to surveying and valuing, all for the benefit of the clients.
“I’m not too sure if everyone here knows this, but I myself was from the property industry before joining Star Media Group.
“So, I understand first hand the real estate agency’s business dynamics and I’m no stranger to the different, innovative ways in which you go about your business.
“We have an exciting initiative in the pipeline, a new property classified platform, and we hope to have all of you be part of it.
“With your capabilities and expertise, I sincerely believe that we can collectively champion this initiative together,” he added.
Also present were Star Media Group chief content officer Esther Ng and the Group’s chief revenue officer Lydia Wang.
To ensure fair play, the panel of credible and impartial judges comprised captains of the Malaysian real estate industry and leaders of various disciplines to ensure that all entries received all-rounded and fair evaluations.
They include Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia’s Board of Building Management chairman Datuk Paul Khong, Rehda Youth chairlady Shanaz A. Muztaza, Mah Sing Group Bhd property division chief executive officer Yeoh Chee Beng, Bank Rakyat mortgage financing head Haslina Ali and StarProperty content manager Joseph Wong.
The event was organised by StarProperty Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Star Media Group Bhd.
