Suria’s DJ Lin bags fourth ‘popular radio announcer’ crown
PETALING JAYA: Suria FM radio announcer Roslinda Abdul Majid, or more commonly known as DJ Lin, has snagged the title of Popular Radio Announcer for the fourth time at the 34th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH). The 45-year-old, who gained popularity through the Suria Cinta segment, beat four other contenders – Haziq, Sharifah Shahirah, Tyzo and Jep Sepahtu – to claim the title.
She thanked her mother and children for their understanding and support towards her career, which took up much of her time.
“Alhamdulillah praise to Allah, thanks to my mother. Without her prayers, I would not be here,” DJ Lin said.
“To my children for understanding my work and the fans in and out of the country, who have always helped me and stood by my side.
“To me, what is most important is how we carry ourselves. The fans out there are very smart, we must be sincere in building our relationship with them.
“Don’t be proud with the fans and always give them respect. Without the fans, we would be nobody,” she told mStar, The Star’s Malay language portal.
This is the fourth time DJ Lin has won the category after winning in 2015, as well as at the 32nd and 33rd ABPBH.
The ABPBH, which was hosted by Sherry Alhadad, was broadcast live from World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night.
Suria FM is a Malay language private radio station under Rimakmur Sdn Bhd, which is owned by Star Media Group.
