Teen all set for op, thanks to generous donors
MALAYSIANS have come together to help 13-year-old Tang Bak Zhuan undergo a heart surgery that will change his life for the better.
Star Foundation, in collaboration with Community Care Enrichment Programme, had initiated a donation drive to raise RM55,000 for Bak Zhuan’s procedure scheduled to take place at the National Heart Institute (IJN) next month.
Thanks to the public’s generosity, the sum needed has been met.
Star Foundation stated that the donation drive for Bak Zhuan under its Medical Fund programme would be officially closed, and thanked all donors who contributed to the fund.
Excess donations would be used for the next eligible patient under the programme, the foundation added.
To get a tax exemption receipt, donors need to complete the Medical Fund-Donation Form on the Star Foundation’s website.
The Medical Fund Programme was started in 2015 to help underprivileged individuals suffering from chronic illnesses by sponsoring one-off medical treatment and care.
Star Foundation is the charitable arm of Star Media Group, which aims to support impactful initiatives to help a diverse group of beneficiaries.
