Star Media Group’s (SMG) inaugural Star Virtual Education Fair is now open for registration!

i.Star Events Sdn Bhd general manager Jason Yap said registered visitors have the opportunity to secure special bursaries and scholarships worth up to tens of thousands of ringgit.Notable ones include a merit scholarship of up to RM60,000 for a Taylor’s University pharmacy degree and a merit scholarship worth RM42,600 (75,000 yuan) from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
“Sentral College is offering an income-based bursary whereby students from households with a monthly income of below RM8,000 will receive a 15% bursary and the option for an installment plan to study at the institution.
“Students can also look out for HELP University’s STPM and UEC Scholarship. Upon meeting HELP’s entry requirement, successful candidates will receive a 30% waiver for the first year’s tuition fee, and 20% waiver for the second and third years, ” said Yap.
Live chat sessions with counselors from participating education institutions will be held daily from 10am to 7pm. Live webinars which shed light on educational programmes and courses will also be available throughout the three-day virtual event.
Topics include “Business in Time of Covid-19 and Braving Through It” by Taylor’s College, “An Ultimate guide to Pre-University” by UOW Malaysia KDU, “How Business Education Prepares Students for Real World Experience” by Curtin University, “Foundation in Science: The Principal Pathway to Your Intended Undergraduate Studies” by International Medical University and more.
“The webinars will give insights into the courses students are interested in and students can interact with the speakers online, ” said Yap.
He added that the virtual fair brings together top universities and colleges under one roof to provide aspiring students and parents with information to make the right choice.
“SMG has teamed up with UniEnrol, which is also a leader in its own right in the education industry, to present a platform that is systematic and user-friendly. Most importantly, it addresses visitors’ thirst for information, ” he said.
